Becky's getting a new Vespa but can't decide which color to choose. I said yellow but I think that looks more like me than her.

Sometimes I get the travel bug so bad I can hardly stand it. Like this morning, I was driving to work, and I all of the sudden my urge to go to Spain came back. I don't know why I want to go to Spain so badly. Maybe because I could sit back and let Grant do all of the talking and navigating, maybe because it's Spanish like Grant and Euro like me, maybe it's because I've heard so many wonderful things about Barcelona. I do know I wish the dollar was better so this trip could be more than just a dream.

Thanks to Domino Magazine, I'm hoping these pictures will inspire beautiful outdoor spaces. At the moment all I have is a view of the neighbors dog and a lot of flat dirt. However, I'm planning in my head how to transform it into a summer heaven.

Yesterday evening Grant and I played tennis at the high school, ate a chicken taco at Taco Time and played 12 holes of golf. I'm so glad summer's here.

Chloe and I successfully turned 14 and 25 on Saturday. Thanks so much to everyone for the phone calls, text messages, gifts, cup cakes, dinners, movies, activities. It was so sweet. I had a really great weekend. Chloe at her laser tag party.

Even though today is rainy and cold... it's still beautiful.
...
Good news is I found a recipe blog today that looks extremely promising. Healthy but not too difficult. I think I'll start to try them. However I need to go buy a new crock pot first. You're wondering why I don't have a crock pot. Well it's because when Grant and I were first married I tried cooking a roast and burned it. I scrubbed the crock pot for days but couldn't get it clean. That was the first and only use. When we were moving my self proclaimed OCD habit kicked in and I didn't want the used crock pot in the new clean house. Needless to say it was about a few weeks later when the thought, " I could use that crock pot... why did I give that away?" popped into my head. So, buying a new crock pot is on the to do list... but not for this week. This week is my birthday and I've decided I don't have to cook, clean or buy crock pots when it's my birthday.

Spending so much time in Paris and other cities has been a bit of a curse. I love my home state but I can't help but long for the stores and treasures of big cities. I know there are amazing things out there but I can't get to them. Anyone else have this feeling?

This Saturday is Chloe's birthday (and mine too but that's irrelavant). My original gift idea was make up. There is a website called eyeslipsface.com and you can fill a bag full of cosmetics because they are only $1.00 a piece. So this morning I filled it with tons of lip gloss, finger nail polish, blush, eye shaddows, tools, etc... as I was checking out I realized I needed rushed shipping which then I realized costs an additional $60.00 which is stupid. So now I'm back to square one. Any ideas for a 14 year old (minus clothes she has enough...)

HAWAII PART TWO

We visited a monastery.

Another beautiful sunset.

We all attempted to surf at this beach until we saw a sand shark. Then we decided to eat McDonald's on the beach instead.

Riley, Grant and I at the Plantations Restaurant.

The girls on our zip line tour.

All eight of us.

The zip lines.

Afterwards they took us to this swimming hole.

Me jumping in.
...
Afterwards they showed us all of the crawdad / crab things that were swarming in there.
Chloe & I soaking in the last minutes of sun.

We watched our last sunset at Hanalei Bay.

This monk seal rolled on to our hotel beach to sun tan. How cute is that face.

My mom, me and Chloe watching the seal before going back to Utah.

All in all it was an amazing trip.

Hawaii Pictures (Part One) (Half of the trip...other half I'll download tomorrow).
We took a Zodiac Boat ride along the Na Pali Coast Line. It was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. I didn't know something so amazing existed. I wanted the captain of the boat to drop me off on the island so I could sun tan and hike around. It's a 17 mile hike in. It's my dream to one day see the whole thing on foot.
Na Pali Volcanic Cathedrals.
One day we hiked to this private beach. We had it all to ourselves to play football and search for crabs. (However I was not playing with the crabs. I hate those things.)
I wish it really was our own private beach.
We did this hike that felt like we were in Jurassic Park.
Hiking.
This is the top of the Na Pali Coast.

Chloe & Grant.
The fam minus Grant plus Wyatt's girlfriend Lindsay.
Waimea Canyon. The "Grand Canyon" of the Pacific.
Grant & I sight seeing.

Grant had his birthday while we were there. We had dinner at this amazing restaurant that over looked the ocean.

The girls at the birthday party. I made my mom strike a pose. Pretty good I'll admit.

The boys at our hotel.
Grant, Chloe and I suntanning at the resort.

The beach on our resort.
...
I'm a bit rushed today so tomorrow I'll put up the rest of the trip. Let me just say it will involve zip lines and a monk seal. See ya soon!
