Last night we had my dad's 51st birthday party.
My dad, Chloe, Grant and our two cousins, Christan and Lisel, mountain biked and then afterwards we had a BBQ up the canyon.

My cousin Gabe was trying to teach me a skateboard trick. It didn't turn out so well.

It was a really fun party and a beautiful night.

My favorite kids clothing line Flora Henri has their new fall line on their website www.florahenri.com. The clothes are insanely expensive but so fun to look at.

Grant and I finally watched Bella last night. It's one of the best movies I've seen in a really, really long time.

I have zero pictures hanging in my house. I can never decide what to do with them, so I was happy to find these cute ideas from Domino. I love this mantel. The mirror / picture thing is perfect.
I have a big white wall going up my stairs, maybe one day I'll do something similar. I like the mixing of frames.
Simple is always good.

I do have a picture board. I'm going to go home and fill it up like this one.

I've never been to New York before, but for some reason every year when fall comes around, I want to go so badly.

Today Chloe is in High School. I can't believe it.

Chloe made the Timpview Sophomore Soccer team. Last night was their first game against Lone Peak and they won. She worked really hard all summer so I'm very glad she made the team. Back to THS. (I have to admit I love High School.)

LEADVILLE, AUGUST 9TH 2008Dinner the night befoer the race.

The Leadville 100 is a mountain bike race in Leadville Colorado, the highest city in the country. It was my dad's 5th year racing.
We woke up at 3:30 am Saturday. We were in Leadville by 5:00am.
It was still dark and really cold when we arrived.

Lance Armstrong raced this year, so there were bigger crowds than ever. It was amazing to see what an athlete he is.

The life of the pit crew: a lot of waiting to see your rider for 30 seconds. However the excitement and intensity make it a lot of fun.

When Lance was riding by he threw his snack right in front of us.

Chocolate frosting with a banana on a roll.. who would have thought?

The temperature was up and down. At one point it was 90 degrees and burning and then towards the end of the race the clouds came in and it poured on us.

The rain and mud just make everything so much more difficult.We had to wait a few more hours for him to get to the finish line. After a long, grueling day, I had to sit, even if it was in the middle of the road.

After 11 hours and 07 minutes it was all over. Even though he wanted to finish an hour and twenty minutes earlier, we were all so happy. Just finishing this race, (especially when you're nauseated and not feeling well) is an amazing accomplishment.

After the race we spent a few days in the Vail village.

Chloe was interpreting the bronze animal statues.

The last day we found a french bakery with the most amazing gellato... I'm already thinking of what flavor to try next year.

We had an awesome trip. Sad that it's over.

This trip we are going to Leadville Colorado.

WHY? Because my dad is racing in the Leadville 100 Mile Mountain Bike Race.

WHO WILL BE THERE? Supposedly Lance Armstrong (he's promised before, so we'll see if he really shows).

After a little blog browsing this morning, I found these amazing headbands at http://www.ban.do.com/. I can't wear them cause I have short hair but for cute girls like Chloe, they'd be perfect! These are expensive so maybe I can recreate my own versions.

Weekend Report: We went to the Park City Art Festival this weekend.

We also hiked Stewart Falls.

Other things we did: played tennis, ate lunch at Sundance, worked on Chloe's soccer moves for her tryouts, rode the lift and sun tanned on the top of the mountain, went on a motor cycle ride... (Chloe and my dad were on his Ducati, Grant and I were on my mom's Vespa... needless to say we couldn't keep up).
