3.29.30

This weekend me, Grant, Monet and my parents went to California to watch Chloe cheer at Nationals and to take Monet to Disneyland for a couple of days.

...

She was full of excitement, and this was just at the airport! We flew in Friday, ate dinner, shopped at H&M. Then Saturday we went over to Disneyland.

...

In line for Snow White, the first ride of the day. She was so happy because walking through the castle she met Snow White, Belle and Sleeping Beauty. She thought that was pretty amazing.

Then we get on the ride and we all had forgotten how scary it was and Monet (right after this picture) started crying and crying. Poor thing. She was traumatized within the first five minutes of our trip! It's no wonder the lines are shorter on that ride than all of the others, no one wants to go on it! But we quickly made it up to her by taking her to the princess show. She got to run around and dance with the princesses. Then as we were walking out we saw all of the princess dresses and bought her the Belle outfit, she loves Belle, and to my surprise she loved the dress. We went to the convention center in the afternoon to watch Timpview. Chloe did awesome and they made it to Finals, which was great.

We went back to Disneyland. Nana bought Monet this Toy Story balloon, which you can tell by the expression on her face, was pretty cool.
We spent some time in the "movie room" and let Monet run and sing and play with her balloon. She was in heaven.
Her favorite game was going into Grandpa's room and calling our room. Funny where they find entertainment.
The next morning she had to watch Beauty and the Beast next to her dress. (Where does this girl come from, she cracks me up.)
At breakfast she made a new best friend. She was calling her Snow White. They played together for about 45 minutes. When it was time to leave Monet wanted to give her a hug and a kiss on the lips. It was hilarious. She wants to make friends with every kid that walks by her.
Chloe came with us in the morning before she competed. We went to Toon Town to let Monet get a look at the characters, since that seemed to be her favorite thing.

She kissed Mickey and Minnie on the noses and is still talking about it.

We had a BBQ lunch. Monet got involved in more singing and more dancing.
She liked the Winnie the Pooh ride. She hopped like Tigger for the next thirty minutes.
Then we went back to the Convention center to watch Chloe again. Timpview did so awesome this time. They couldn't have preformed any better. There were 8 good teams in their category. They ended up with 3rd (easily could have been 2nd.)
I was so proud of her for sticking everything and not having any mess ups. She did great.

Afterwards Chloe came with us back to Disneyland. We ate dinner at the same place both nights (gluten free eating forces everyone to be flexible... thanks guys). Then we bundled up and went back out. We caught Tinkerbell's firework show. Monet loved it.
We went on Nemo, which we all kind of hated but of course Monet had her face pressed to the glass with joy. We hung out by the castle, went to the Tiki Room, saw another show. Went on a few more kid rides. Monet was going strong, even at 11:45 when we left.
Monet was very sweet and very cute. We had so much fun just relaxing and hanging out with her. It was a great trip. It couldn't have been any better.
Monday, we went to Hollywood to meet my Aunt Joyce. She took us to lunch at Barneys and walked us around the store. Amazing. The clothes were so pretty I didn't want to touch! (We should have brought the camera but it was packed away. )

I brought my nice camera to Chloe's parents night last night but of course I forgot the memory card, I seem to do that a lot. So these cell phone shots will have to do. Whenever Monet watches Chloe do her cheer routine, she is so focused that drool almost comes out of her mouth. She hardly blinks.
Chloe second one to the left.
Chloe's partner stunt.
Good Luck at Nationals! You'll do great!

Growing up, every time we went on vacation we all got new clothes to take. And now I guess I have (unintentionally) inherited the tradition. I can't help it. Especially when I have little Monet to put outfits together for. How much fun is baby girl shopping.
...
(however I'm sure the ease of boy clothes would be refreshing too!)

I haven't been blogging because I am so obsessed with finding house ideas, I always run out of time.
I am in love with florals.
Wondering if I should add some boldness to a few walls.
I love the newspaper. How cute would it be to get some old french papers.
And yellow, I'm loving yellow. Probably because I am starving for some sunshine! It must be a mental thing.

I ordered the Urban Outfitters yellow couch, and new white bedding. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Yesterday was our 2nd annual Ski day for my Grandpa Karl. Of course Karl made the sun shine extra bright, softened the snow up for us, even the guy working in the restaurant randomly gave us our lunch for free, which I'm sure Karl made happen from up above, since he got everything for free. So if you're wondering, yes it was the perfect day. Lets start the party with a dorky helmet photo of myself!

Riley & Gabe.
Me & Grant. Lunch on the deck. (Larry, Gabe, Wyatt's friend Bryant, Wyatt & Craig.)

The skiing gang.

At 2:00 we did a special run for Karl down his favorite, Bishops Bowl. He would always pick one of us out and say, "follow me" and so turn by turn we would plant our poles and make smooth perfect turns right behind him. So in memory of all the lessons he blessed us with, we made one long train, all turning the same turn. I was laughing thinking about what a kick he would have gotten watching all of us.

My mom.
After skiing, at 4:00, everyone came up for the Mexican Fiesta. Monet got to do a little ski run with Riley. We are all counting down the minutes for when she can be up on the hill with us (especially Riley!)

I guess I was too tired because I didn't get any pictures of the party. So, you'll have to take my word for it,- it was so much fun, and such great weather, and the food was delicious.
Love you Grandpa. Miss you everyday.

Last weekend we went to sunny St. George. We watched my dad and Dylan in their first bike race. We played tennis, went on a walk, watched Monet play in the park, ate lots of good food, and had the best time. Monet loved swimming with Chloe. She kept telling me "good swimmer!" Even when she got out of the tub, "good swimmer!"
Saturday we went to the bike race to watch my dad and Chloe's friend Dylan (who came on the trip with us.)
Monet passing the time; watching bikers go by, going on walks, and just chillin'.

First race of the season. It felt so good to be out in the world again, baking in the sunshine.
