7.30.12

Yesterday we hiked to Big Springs to bury Sadie's ashes.
They dug a little grave and Riley made a memorial.

We sat around and told story's about Sadie. Monet shared the story of the new Ice Age movie.

Monet would take off running and yell, "This is how girls do it!!!"

xoxo. Miss you Sadie. xoxo

The 24th of July we had a BBQ at my parents and then took Monet to the Owlz game and then to watch the firework show afterwards. Monet absolutely loved it. After it was over she said, "I loved it. I loved all of the colors and all of those songs!"

I wish everyone had a Chloe. She's been my summer nany and so helpful. Monet loves her to death and Chloe is always so sweet to take her swimming, to movies (Ice Age two days in a row), to the pet store. and anywhere else to make little M happy.

Last week we went to the zoo with Jesse, Dylan and Tiffany. It was fun, crowded and hot, hot, hot.

The day after Zions we did fireworks at our house.
 Love her firework face!

Monet is into all things pretty and fancy. Every morning she wants to put on a dress. Usually a play dress, but lately she's been wanting to wear dresses that she wore when she was like 6 months old.
We went to nana's and she wasn't happy with the shorts that I put her in, so nana put on one of Chloe's dresses and tied it up. She was in heaven. Now every time we go over there, putting on this dress is the first thing she does.
She's been into wearing her Easter dress lately. She's feels so happy in it. I love her. I love girls. She finds so much joy in the funniest things!
At nana's she likes to drink her apple juice out of fancy glasses!
This was her outfit one morning while she was reading a Christmas book to her animals.
She loves to play Dr. Her Dr kit has Dr tools but also make up brushes, chap stick, hairbrushes, biking medals, erasers, pretty much any random thing she could find. So needless to say it takes some time for her Dr visits. She loves to read. I've bought her about 30 of these tiny little books, each has a different story about a princess and she has each one memorized almost exactly, and reads them to me every day.    She has the funniest sense of humor. She loves, loves, loves to sing and dance and will perform anytime and anywhere. We watch So You Think You Can Dance just about everyday. At the beginning of each routine she runs down the hall, I have to yell, "Introducing Monet!" and then she comes in and dances with the dancers. It's hilarious.
She's constantly fun to be around. We all love her so much.

Zions hikes:
This year everyone did Angels Landing, The Narrows and a little hike for Monet.

Monday, July 2nd, me, Becky, Chloe and Monet headed to Zions. We went a day before everyone else. We went to dinner, swam, and hungout by the river.
One afternoon everyone floated the river. Monet hopped in Chloe's raft as they passed the hotel. She didn't want to get out, she loved it.

4th of July was a lot of fun. We woke up and watched the parade right in front of the hotel. It's such a small town, and a small parade, it's like having the whole thing to ourselves. Monet was happy.

After a day of swimming, my parents threw such a fun BBQ up at the park. We ate kabobs, had a pinata for the kids, played bad mitten, enjoyed some singing and dancing from Monet and then a concert by Keith. Everyone had such a good time.

We were lucky to spend so much time with family. Joyce took us all out to a nice dinner one of the nights.

Between swimming, hiking, and playing with cousins, Monet was pretty worn out! But she was really, really good and so sweet and so much fun to be around.
The boys had fun playing croquet.
 Monet had fun dressing herself.
I got to spend lots of time with Monet since we were the two that couldn't hike. We swam a lot. Went to lunch. Went to the bookstore. Took naps together. It was nice.
I was proud of Monet's swimming (and Chloe for teaching her.) She was loving it. Going under, trying to swim, and jumping off the side.
It was the perfect summer vacation. We came home tan and tired!
