8.26.10

Today is my dads birthday.
We celebrated by going to J Dawgs for dinner. Yum. This photo makes me laugh.
It also makes me wonder when the front of Monet's hair is going to catch up with the back?
Linds & Chloe
Then we went back to my parents for presents and buttermilk pie.
My mom gave Monet this hat. She just happened to be wearing her Zebra tee shirt as well. Poor thing, it was like 95 degrees but we didn't want her to take it off because she looked so cute (and funny... in an adorable way.)
Party people.
Monet trying to pick up Tinkerbell.
Petting Sadie. This girl loves animals. She must take after Chloe.
I love birthday's. It was a perfect night.

Thank you to Chloe for always taking such fantastic photos (!)

Last week we took Monet to the Thanksgiving Point farm for the first time. She was so so cute. She loved the horseback ride. A little confused at first but she wanted to go again and again. She must take after her mama, one handed.
Pigs were cute.
She waved hi and bye bye to all the little goats.
It was oh so fun.

Our trip to Vail.
...
On the car ride over Monet enjoyed some quiet reading time. We stayed in the same house as last year which is great because it is right next to the Vail Village.
Thursday night after we unpacked, we went down to the french restaurant and had dinner outside, over looking the ski hill.
Wyatt & Lindsay.
Monet was happy watching the dogs run around on the lawn.

Nana fed her some soup.

Buzz Lightyear was always near by.

Friday morning we went to Breckenridge for lunch and to walk around, it was an adorable little town. After lunch Monet was acting very tired so sweet Lindsay drove her back home for a nap while we all went on a hike. My dad was determined to find the tree that he hit which tore his shoulder and ribs to pieces. So we hiked and hiked and hiked, about three miles. I kept saying we passed it, we must have passed it. And we did, and found it on the way down. But it didn't matter because the hike was beautiful and the weather was perfect.
And finally here it is.

That evening we all went to dinner. Monet was acting fussy, wouldn't eat, wouldn't fall asleep. We went to bed and at 12 she woke up throwing up and incredibly sick. It was the first time she's ever been sick like that and it was the saddest thing. Grant and I were up with her until 5am and then finally she fell asleep. So Grant, Monet and I did not go up to the race in Leadville, which was a bummer since that is essentially the whole point of the trip.
...
Mike Young got his 10th belt buckle. Very impressive.
The Robert clan.
My dad, Riley & Wyatt.
...
Riley in his "hot tub attire" reading People Magazine with Monet on the deck. (I had to get a photo of this one!)
...
And that's where the fun stops. Saturday Monet got better but Chloe, Grant and I got violently ill and were sick as dogs until Monday morning when we drove home.
The day after we got home Wyatt got it. Now Riley has it. Yuck. What a way to ruin a vacation!

Sometimes lunch ends up looking like this.
