12.29.11

Yesterday at about 1:00, I was cleaning the house and felt like I was going crazy, so I threw on our ski stuff, called Riley and Chloe and raced up to Sundance. And I'm so glad I did because it was so warm and so fun.
Monet in her new ski outfit. She was decked out from head to long johns.
Grant, Becky and Larry came up to watch Monet ski.
...
Nothing like skiing with a backpack full of diapers, wipes and binky's... and candy of course.
How cute are these two.

Monet had a blast. She and Riley were flying down the hill, he was even catching air on all these little jumps. Monet was yelling, "faster!" She wanted to keep going. I'm so grateful for a brother who I 100% trust racing down the hill with my precious cargo! People kept saying, "look at that kid with that baby!!"
Super fun, happy day, finished with tortilla soup and cookies in the deli.

12.28.11

December 22nd, we had our annual Lambs Cafe / Ice skating party. We had the best time. It was snowing so perfectly. It wasn't too cold. It felt like Christmas. Monet was having fun.

Monet was really looking forward to ice skating, since she's been watching Enchanted Christmas, where Belle and the Beast ice-skate... but of course they wouldn't let her on the rink. So I found this slick little courtyard, surrounded by lights, and told her this was the rink for kids. She was in heaven. She skated around, thinking she was ice skating. It was precious.

Christmas Eve
...
Christmas eve day I was in the kitchen for about 5 hours. We made sugar cookies and ate cupcakes for breakfast.

That evening we all went to Macaroni Grill for dinner and then to the church service.
...
We went back to my mom and dads to eat dessert and open pajamas.
I love Monet's little gnome pajamas that nana bought her. We also let her open her Dorothy doll, and she was so happy.
We came home and put out cookies and milk for Santa, carrots for the reindeer and Cheerios for the elf's (?) However Monet ate most of the plate before she went to bed.

Christmas Day 2011
...
Christmas morning, we had a slight delay when Riley's alarm clock didn't go off and Becky had to drive to his house to wake him up. You might think Monet would be anxious to go down stairs, but she was super happy that everyone was up in her room playing 'duck duck goose' for 45 minutes.
Once we all arrived ;) we let them come down stairs. Monet went straight to the cookies and milk and just stood there quiet with this puzzled look. It was adorable.
Then she spotted a new high chair and cradle.
A new fridge.
Our nice Christmas quickly turned to a wrapping disaster. Is there anything more fun?

Riley and his unicycle.
Monet and her Radio Flyer that grandpa and nana gave her. She actually picked up peddling really quickly. Shouting, "I'm doing it! I'm doing it!"
I think more than the presents, Monet was in heaven playing with Scout and Wyatt at our house and at nana's. She was loving it.

Nana and grandpa gave her a Disneyland play castle and she could hardly wait to get it open.

I thought Monet would be crazy wild Christmas morning, but she was so quiet and sweet and content. I actually had to force her to stop playing with one gift to open another. It was so cute.
Becky's new coat.
Monet gave grandpa this picture of Sadie, and grandpa gave Monet a picture of Sadie for her room.
Chloe gave Monet this cute little shopping cart.

Christmas breakfast.

After laying around in the basement. We went to my mom and dads for the best dinner, and a crazy game of Dance Dance, provided by Wyatt and Lindsay.

Happy Christmas
