Today was supposed to be our big family ski day but we were snowed out since Sundance was closed due to power outage. So now I'm organizing and cleaning. Lame.

Thursday, Dec 23, was our Tucker family Christmas Party at La Dolce Vita. It was a lot of fun, like always. Monet was loving playing with all of the kids, dancing during the talent show, and singing to Frosty the Snowman. All the kids waiting to sit on Santa's lap.
Friday, Dec 24, we went to dinner at Sundance and then to the church for the Candlelight Service. Monet did really well for how sick she felt. This picture explains it all. She had/has stuff coming out of her nose every second of the day.
It's not like her to lay down in the middle of the floor while we open gifts. Poor girl. I miss her spunky little spirit.
Christmas pajamas.
I love this picture. Turn on Frosty the Snowman and she's happy as can be.
Dec, 25, Waiting at the top of the stairs.
Santa brought some great gifts. She loved her car.
And her oven.
Jessie that talks was a huge hit.
As well as Mr Potato Head.
You know it's Christmas when you get to eat a sucker for breakfast.
Going to Grandma Joannes for dinner.
Chloe and Monet.
We had a happy Christmas. Hope you all did too.

Sick mama, now sick baby. Just in time for Christmas.

This means one thing. It's wrapping season. And I love it. And have you ever seen a sadder tree? It was wimpy to begin with. Then it crashed and broke some ornaments, and spilled water all over the presents. So we cut 4 huge branches off the bottom so it would fit tight in the stand. So now it's crooked, skinny, too short and missing the bottom half! Looks like next year I am going to have to leave the fire and hike in the snow to find the tree.
moral of the story is when you are lazy and send your husband to cut down the tree... there's no complaining allowed.

Isn't this holiday party (over at Gathering Spriggs) just gorgeous.

And good news for me, the 2011 color of the year has been announced and it's Honeysuckle Pink.
I love pink. It makes me happy. I don't love wearing pink but I love to decorate with it so it will be fun to see what starts popping up in this spunky hue!

Monet is in love with all things Christmas. Especially if it has to do with Santa or a snowman.
Every time we walk downstairs and she sees this Santa she says, "oh, Santa!", and as we leave to go somewhere, she kisses him goodbye. It's very cute.
...
She's obsessed with Frosty the Snowman. She has watched the 1964 tv version about 6 times in the last two days. I can't wait until we can build a real snowman in our yard. ...
I was in charge of Sunday dessert, so I turned my summer chocolate cake into Christmas cupcakes.

I wish it would snow every day until January 1st.
I hate that it is all melting.

My favorite People now have a line for Wee People! Oh I think I want to dress Monet in these fluffy little outfits for the rest of her life.

Yesterday after Monet's bath I decided to put her hair in pig tails for the first time (since it's so long in the back.) Oh, she looked so cute and old. At first she was pulling at them saying, "Get it off? Get it off?" But by the end of the night she didn't seem to mind.

11.28.10

Friday morning we went to cut down our Christmas trees.
...
Monet seemed a little confused by her new snow outfit. She was like a little snow ball that could hardly walk.
We took her sledding for the first time, but she has a cold and didn't feel well and was clearly not in the mood. So she ended up sitting in the trailer while Chloe and I sled for her. When we got down she would say, "again, again."
She wasn't really happy until we gave her a bag of raisins. If you have candy in one hand and raisins in the other she will always choose the raisins. She loves them.
Chloe really made her happy by making her a snowman. She's been talking about snowmen for a week and finally she had one.

...
My mom, Riley and Grant hiked through the waste deep snow for about two hours to cut the trees while me, Chloe, my dad and Monet stayed by the truck and fire. After cutting 4 trees we went to Midway for Mexican food. It was a long but really fun and beautiful day.

I'm skipping Thanksgiving this year and going right to Christmas. Monet isn't as excited about a turkey as she is Santa Claus. How can you blame her.

I was fully committed to making this adorable felt wreath... until I found out it was very labor intensive and that you have to sew. So if any of you have extra time, find the instructions at http://www.pickles.no/ (you can buy the felt balls on etsy.)

I can't stop obsessing over Anthropologie's new Holiday decor.
My favorites:

I am loving all things plaid right now... and oh, how I would love these sheets on my bed!

Is there anything better than Anthropologie? Not to me.
