QUESTION???
Do any of you moms out there NOT use bumper pads in the crib? I never bought any because I had the crib sheet made - I've done some online research and read that you really don't need bumper pads... any thoughts if I am a bad mom for not padding the crib?
...
24th of July picnic
... For the 24th we went to Sundance for a picnic.
She was happy laying and kicking on her blanket in the fresh air.
Chloe was happy to hold and play with her.
..
Good news...
She will drink formula now.
No more nursing in dirty stair wells.

i still have yet to give quinn a drop of formula and i think he's tainted. he wont even take a bottle really. you're smart for doing that. so until then, you can find me nursing in a dirty stair well and all sorts of strange places.

i'm sure you are fine with out the bumper but as soon as q got mobile he would stick his arms/legs out the side and so i was a grateful for a bumper.

Hay,

I had a bumper in Graham's crib and then my sister in law (who I trust completely with Mom stuff) told me they say to NOT have one. She said she researched SIDS and that was one of the things they recommended. So I recommend No Bumper!

Was that dismal or what?

I still use the bumper pads in Reece's crib. He likes to freak out about once a week and repeatedly bang his head against the sides when i walk out. They have really helped so he doesn't hurt himself as bad! We are ok on the SIDS situation because we have a tent in his crib that makes the bumper stay on the outside! (I know, the tent makes me sound like a horrible mom, but when you have a child like mine you are thankful they actually make these things!

Monet has the most amazing outfits I've ever seen. I don't know what I would do if I had to dress a girl. So much pressure!

When my kids started to move around, they never slept in the middle of the crib. They always had their heads against the side of the crib -- therefor the bumper pad made it more comfortable for them. Every kid is different so it is totally up to you-

i could never find bumpers that i liked with my older kids but when they wake up with dents in their heads from sleeping against the crib, you feel kinda bad....i ended up rolling favorite blankets and padding the sides with those. i actually found a bumper that i looooove for bright, in fact i'm sad she's going to be outgrowing it soon. congrats on the formula--it's the best! and, by-the-way, i love that picture of you (the b&w)

After all the back and forth about bumpers, I decided to keep mine. At first I worried about SIDS etc. but after your child gets their leg, arm or other body part stuck in the slats of the crib, you realize they could also lose a limb without a bumper. :)
Whatever you decide and feel best about will be fine I am sure. Good luck.
I still want to have a get-together with cheer friends. Stace thought it would be fun too.
oh, and I am so glad you are feeling better.

I'm with Brooke. I took Christian's off after I heard such concerns. Then he would wake up crying with a chubby leg stuck in between the slats. So, I have a bumper with Bennett.
