Monet at 6 months:

I discovered a day or so ago that she has a little tooth coming in. She just started cereal and banana's this week, she makes a sour face but opens her lips for more. She dips her hand in the water while she's taking a bath and then sticks her fingers in her mouth to drink it. Her hair gets kind of curly when it's wet. She does this little fake cough when she wants attention. It took some time for her to get the hang of rolling over but now she is up on her knees and close to crawling. When she is on her stomach she lifts her arms and legs at the same time. She does down dog. If it has a tag on it she will find it and suck on it. She likes to pull your hair, especially aunt Chloe's because hers is so long and usually curled. It makes her laugh to be tickled on her sides. She chews on her shoes but loves to suck on her toes. "Green Eye's" by Cold Play has stopped her crying since she was a newborn. She's happy. She's sweet. To say 'we love her' is an understatement.

One of my favorite designers, Stella McCartney, is about to launch a line for Baby Gap and Gap Kids. I can't wait to see it (and buy it!)

Speaking of Halloween, my mom and I found Monet a costume this week. We tried it on her and I was laughing so hard I had tears. Can't wait for her to wear it.

Please don't judge. She's entertained and I have time to do the dishes and blog about my five month old who I put two feet in front of the tv (occasionally, I swear).

This week, has just been one of those weeks. Last Monday Monet had her 5 month shots, which really turned out to be quite hard on her. She had a fever and was fussy, waking up every two hours. As soon as she started to make a turn for the better, I became really really sick. Something between a cold and the flu. This is my first experience as a sick mother and all I can say is that it is really difficult. All I want is sleep but it's hard to find. We started the "cry it out" method for Monet on Monday and I hate it. It's torture. I really hope this works. I'm skeptical. I have to admit this afternoon I swaddled her, and held her until she feel asleep in my arms. It felt so good laying her down so quietly and peacefully. Her eyes were red today, her nose is runny, I'm afraid she has my cold. So now I wonder if I continue with letting her "cry" - we've gone 3 days I hate to start over in a week. To top it off Grant has been working long days. So to sum up the last week I have been home taking care of my baby and sometimes taking care of myself. My only source of entertainment is the Internet. I found these cupcake toppers in San Francisco. I bought a few boxes. They were too adorable to pass by. You can find them at www.merimeri.com. Saturday was my moms birthday but since she was fly fishing in Durango, we celebrated last night. We went to the new restaurant, Communal, it was delicious.
