Yesterday afternoon, Grant and I took Monet to the Thanksgiving Point Farm. She loved it just as much as I thought she would.
The best part was when she went on the horse. She didn't want Grant to even lay a finger on that saddle. Just like everything else, she wanted to "do it all by myself." She was such a natural. She didn't even slosh from side to side. She just rode it around and around, calm as can be. It kind of gave me a flash back of all of my summers, from a kid to high school, constantly riding horses. It made my heart ache for my grandpa Karl.
But we had such a fun time and Monet was in animal heaven. We looked at everything twice. (She would have stayed much longer but Grant and I were sweating to death!)

I finally cornered myself and decided on a kitchen table and chairs. The table I had to have custom made, so I was extremely nervous to see how it turned out, but I love it. It's a little worn with a French country kind of a feel. I decided to do the French Marais Chair (Industry West) with it. I have always loved the style of these chairs, and I thought the modern metal design with the worn- in table, seemed to mix together well (for me). I decided to get new bedding. I tried so hard to talk myself into getting a color or a pattern, but in the end I couldn't do it. I just love the clean white/cream bedding for our room. So I went with this one from Anthropologie.
Then I put in that Urban Outfitters little yellow couch. It's really cute and the color is fun. Plus it seems like I can move it just about anywhere. I think for my next party I will pull it up to the kitchen table. I've seen a lot of magazines doing that with round tables and I think it's such a cute look.
It only took me three years to get family photos in my house, but man those things are annoying to hang. Grant and I put these up over our bedroom fireplace. The goal is to add to them and fill in the space over the years.

We got home from Hawaii on Monday, I did all of our laundry, put it back in the suitcases because we left early Saturday for Zions to celebrate the 4th.
...
We had such a blast. Swimming everyday, eating out, hanging with family that we don't get to see very often.

On the morning of the 4th Springdale had a small parade that went right in front of our hotel.
Monet was fascinated with the candy throwing. There were hardly any people so she had plenty to pick up. I think she missed half of the parade because she was looking down for candy.

Tuesday morning we hiked Angles Landing. Some of them did it last year but it was a first for Grant and I. I thought it was really scary. I wasn't afraid of the height but I thought the terrain and the rock climbing was sketchy. But I also thought it was really fun. I'm glad we did it. I'm glad we didn't die either.

Tuesday after hiking Angels Landing we all floated the river. It takes about an hour and 1/2. It's super fun. We bought a fake snake and totally freaked Wyatt out with it. I got sucked under some debris and almost drowned, thanks Riley for saving me. I thought I broke my ankle but was fine about 20 minutes later. Chloe banged her knee on a rock trying to get out of the water. It was an adventure!
