Happy Birthday To Riley! Riley is the sweetest uncle to Monet. He comes over every few nights to hangout with her, hold her, feed her, play with her. He lets her suck on his necklace, which she has just about chewed through the leather string. When we all go out to dinner and Monet gets tired of her highchair, he is the first to walk her around and show her things to look at. When we go to a movie and she is fussy, he takes her outside to make her happy.

She loves him.

My mom is trying to help me become a better cook, so yesterday she went to the store, came to my house and gave me a cooking lesson.

On the menu:

Orange poppy seed spinach salad

Chicken & vegetable pot pie (made completely from scratch)

Ginger molasses cake with orange zest cream

Sounds pretty fancy huh?

It was fun and turned out really yummy. She had been hiking so she was ducking out of the picture.
So now I have three meals I can cook! I'm so domestic.

I love their clothes because they remind me of Parisian kids. They dress their kids like little adults. And they don't just put on a tee shirt and jeans, they layer and layer and accessorize. It's definitely something to see.

I took Monet's 8 Month photo about 3 1/2 weeks late, oops. I thought this one was pretty funny though. I decided I'm over January. I cleaned my house and put up a few Valentines decorations. February will be welcomed.

Saturday we went snow shoeing with my parents and Chloe. It was so beautiful with all of the freshly fallen snow. This was the best group photo we got.
Monet loves my dads labs. She was entertained by watching Scout jump in and out of the truck.

Hayley Anderson watched Monet the morning of the funeral. It was cute because she found my new camera and took a few pictures of Monet.

I'm so glad she did because this is what Monet does every morning. She watches 'Elmo's Christmas Countdown.' All 36 minutes of it. It's the only thing that keeps her attention. I'm afraid we'll be watching the Christmas Countdown well into summer.

We were in serious need of some fresh air and sunshine this afternoon, so we went for a hike.

Monet looks a little uneasy here.
We went up American Fork Canyon. I often forget how beautiful it is.

My parents gave me a Nikon D3000 camera for Christmas. I am clueless what to do with it at this point, but hopefully I'll learn how to take some great shots one day.She was cracking me up with her faces. She didn't make one peep the whole time.

I love Utah.

Today was my grandpa's funeral.

There were a lot of tears... a lot of tears.

But also a lot of laughs, good times remembered and an amazing life celebrated.

Thank you guys for all of the support. The phone calls, texts, emails, comments, and flowers were so appreciated.

My dear, sweet grandpa, Coach Karl Tucker passed away.

...

I don't know how a granddaughter and grandfather could have been any closer.

He taught me not only about golfing, skiing, horseback riding, but how to be a good person.

It really, really hurts to let him go.

Grant and Karl were such great friends. They spent endless hours together on the golf course. I know Grant's heart will ache every time he picks up a golf club... for a long, long time.

I will always cherish him. I will never stop missing him.

On a side note... things that are happening around the house... I gave Grant this putting thing for Christmas. I had no idea how many games could be made out of one putting strip.

Grant already has Monet putting.
