Saturday night, Grant and I decided to take
responsibility for the weed problem growing in our
yard. After a trip to
Lowes Grant started hacking away.
I watched him work and read a magazine.
Then I spruced up the front door.
Not landscaping + Not weeding all summer = A yard that's a total disaster
...
On a designers note - I know the front door mat is too small for the front door, but it was $10.00 at Target and I liked it.

Landscaping is the absolute worst!! Good thing I was 9 months pregnant and got Randy to do it fast before Max came...hint hint
oh my word. i have to comment here, as this is all too familiar. when we bought our house in idaho, the house didn't come with grass in the backyard... and we were lazy and didn't put one in for awhile. the weeds were getting SO big and SO tall that our neighbors called the "homeowners association" on us and informed us that if we didn't cut our weeds down we'd be charged a fine because it is disturbing the "beauty" of the neighborhood. oops. we weeded ALL day for 3 days straight and my hands were sore and raw. needles to say we put grass in the next week:)
...and i LOVE your mat. that is adorable, small or not...
hayley,i feel your pain, my yard is a mess too--we do have grass but that's about it (besides weeds). yard work is not my thing, i like your version: buy a cute mat, a cute wreath and read a magazine--you go girl!
Great taste in the door mat! I have the same one in front of my door.
Good news--your neighbors looks worse.
the neighbors looks worse because no body lives there
