10.20.08

Saturday morning Grant and I were packing to go up to our cabin with my dad to fish and close it up for the winter... Then we noticed a big puddle of water on the floor of Grants office, dripping from the light above. So we found out it was the toilet in one of the upstairs kids bedrooms. Odd because no one uses that bathroom. So we had to pull up the carpet because the closet was soaked. We now need to install a new toilet, repaint the baseboards, hopefully we'll be able to put the carpet back without having to order new. So needless to say we didn't get to have the nice refreshing, outdoor weekend we were planning on. Instead we had to monitor the leak and try to air out the bedroom. Bummer.

Water damage is the worst.

bummer about the water damage, glad you caught it before you headed out. cute playroom, though. i have a friend that did a chalkboard wall--so cute, but she always has a lot of chalk dust--just something to think about. i almost did one in our playroom but didn't dare. i too was worried about teaching kids to draw on walls. (don't mean to rain on your parade-it's darling, go for it!)
