I was browsing on Dominomag.com today to see what I could find, for fun, and I found this apartment. It's the creative director for J Crew's house. And I love it. Love the chandelier. And what is it about old fireplaces? They're the best decoration in any room.
Simple colors, interesting shapes...

Again, all you need is a sweet fireplace.
This little boy's room is adorable.
I'll have to put it in the "nursery rooms" file.
I guess anyone who gets free clothes from Jcrew should have a closet like this one.

So this week I came to a conclusion, that deep down I already knew but hadn't fully accepted... and that is - Chloe is no longer a kid. She has crossed over into teenager at a rapid rate.
...
Last week she was bored so she called me to see what Grant and I were doing. Me, trying to be in the Halloween spirit suggested we go to The Nightmare Before Christmas 3D... even though we've seen it a million times... I thought she'd be into it. So we go to the theater (Grant even willing came along) got some popcorn, sat down... we were the only three. For some reason I had these visions of her back when she was little, being excited and scared... in reality she was texting her friends the whole time... I had to keep getting mad at her to put it away... about an hour into she looks at me... 3D glasses and all, and says, "can we go?" I look at Grant, he laughs, I laugh, we all walk out. I then said to myself, "it's over with her."
It's funny how you can trick yourself into thinking kids will be kids forever.
...
I'm glad we're on our way to having one of our own.

The reason I love to blog, is because I get to look into other people's interesting lives. And whether they are creative house moms or designers in Paris... it's all interesting to me. After blog searching, I fell in love with this website, http://www.cherryblossomgirl.com/. A girl's life in Paris, surrounded by fashion...a dream to me. I always tell Grant, "I feel like I could live in so many different places and be so many different types of people." However I have learned a valuable lesson. When I went to school in Paris for four months, all I could do was miss Grant and my family. I of course loved everything about the city, marveled at every corner, but everywhere I walked I always carried this nagging feeling, "I wish Grant could see this... I wish my mom was here to shop with me in that store... Chloe would love this and she would love that..." So the moral to my story is, even though I've dreamed of living in many different places, I'm happiest when I'm closest to Grant and my family... where ever that may be. And I'm grateful that's it's here.

Yesterday, Grant, Chloe and I decided to carve a pumpkin while my parents cooked Sunday dinner.
We had just finished tennis so I'm warming my spandex by the fire. I've always hated digging out the pumpkin guts.
Grant made Chloe eat the pumpkin guts.
Pretty sick.
This is about as creative as the three of us could get!

...
I'm leaving work to go play tennis for the first time in three months
(hooray for the return of energy!)
...
And then I'm going to eat the carmel apple sitting on my counter top
(hooray for the return of an appetite!)
...
I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Yesterday, I worked in the closet. I put away everything summer and got out all the winter / warm clothes. I also got rid of a bunch of stuff, which felt so good. De -cluttered.
Reorganized.
Said my goodbye to the warm weather. Wiped a few tears as the swimming suits were replaced with hats and scarves.
...
But happy to have it finished.

Saturday morning Grant and I were packing to go up to our cabin with my dad to fish and close it up for the winter... Then we noticed a big puddle of water on the floor of Grants office, dripping from the light above. So we found out it was the toilet in one of the upstairs kids bedrooms. Odd because no one uses that bathroom. So we had to pull up the carpet because the closet was soaked. We now need to install a new toilet, repaint the baseboards, hopefully we'll be able to put the carpet back without having to order new. So needless to say we didn't get to have the nice refreshing, outdoor weekend we were planning on. Instead we had to monitor the leak and try to air out the bedroom. Bummer.

Water damage is the worst.

We have an extra bedroom downstairs that I eventually want to make into a toy room. After finding this picture, I think I'll just copy it. Love the chalk board.

Life being pregnant is ... interesting.
...
These first few months have been a bit rough. Nausea is the worst.
...
Thankfully things are starting to get a little better. I think the sickness is mostly behind me.
...
I don't have cravings but eat a lot of sugar cereal and the thought, sight or smell of cake makes me just about loose it. Yuck.
...
I feel like my stomach is bigger than what it should be for only being 12 weeks along. My mom told me since I am only 5 feet tall and 100 pounds there's not going to be a lot of room for this baby to go. So I guess I'll have to get use to the idea I'll never be one of those "you can hardly tell you're pregnant" kind of girls.
...
We haven't thought about baby names and I haven't bought one thing since we found out. I don't know why. Maybe cause I'm Too tired. Too sick.
...
The hardest part for me is keeping something in my stomach constantly. I've never liked eating and so it's really exhausting finding things to keep me full.
...
I feel like my return to the gym and yoga class is near and that makes me super happy.
...
The best thing of all...Every one's been so sweet and loving and I really appreciate it.

Anniversary... Yesterday for our anniversary we took the day off and went to lunch.
Then to a movie. We see a lot of movies and the best time to go is in the middle of the day during the middle of the week. We usually are the only ones in the entire theater.
Then we went to dinner.
I came home to find my Brittish flag pillow had finally arrived. So I removed the summer pink pillows and tried to make the living room a little more "fallish".
Another new addition. Dash & Albert rug for the kitchen sink.
And since today is my moms birthday and since I am always the designated wrapper (two brothers and my dad) I wrapped my moms gifts.
...
Tonight we're going to the Tree Room for my mom, and since Grant and I were married at Sundance it's kind of like a (secret) anniversary party too!
...
I forgot to mention, Grant also bought me a 25 cent sunflower from the neighborhood kids... how romantic...(!)
